How to choose a hose from your working conditions
Start with the medium, temperature, pressure and dimensions. Use those requirements to compare PVC, rubber, polyurethane and PTFE products, then narrow the choice to a documented specification.
Describe the job before choosing a material
A material name alone does not identify a suitable hose. Describe what the hose carries, how it is installed and how the equipment operates. Include the medium’s exact name and concentration where relevant, together with the normal and highest operating temperatures.
State whether the application involves discharge, suction, compressed air, protection or another task. Include movement, repeated bending, outdoor exposure and connection requirements where they affect the installation.

Compare the four product families
The PVC range includes several reinforced and application-specific constructions. The rubber range includes EPDM and NBR products. These families are starting points for comparison. More than one family may remain a candidate, and a product may need further confirmation before it can be recommended for your particular medium and conditions.
Check one specification against all conditions
Compare the requested dimensions, medium, temperature and pressure with the same product specification. Check the conditions attached to each published rating. Do not combine a temperature value from one product with a pressure value from another, or treat burst pressure as a working-pressure rating.

Move from a shortlist to an inquiry
For each candidate, note the product name, the specification you reviewed and any unresolved requirement. Send those details with your quantity, destination and connection needs. This gives the supplier a clear basis for discussing a specific product instead of a material category alone.
