PTFE tube, braided and corrugated hose: how to compare
Identify the PTFE product form, review its own specification and include medium, operating conditions and connection details in the inquiry.
Separate the product forms
The PTFE range includes tubing, braided hose and corrugated braided hose, together with other forms such as capillary, protective and shrink tubing. Use the description of the specific product to understand its intended form and application. Do not transfer a hose description to a different tube product.
Review pressure and temperature together
Use the published specification for the selected construction and size. Read pressure units carefully, including kgf/cm² where shown. Confirm the rating conditions and whether the requirement concerns tubing alone or an assembly with connections.
Describe the medium and installation
Provide the exact medium and concentration where relevant, the temperature range, working pressure, dimensions and connection requirements. Include routing, repeated movement or space restrictions when they matter. Ask for clarification where the available product information does not address your condition.
- Product form and intended use
- Medium, dimensions, pressure units and temperature
- Connections, routing and assembly requirements
Use the right information for shrink tubing
When requesting PTFE shrink tubing, identify the product page and the dimensions and end requirements relevant to your application. Request confirmation of the applicable product and processing information. A braided hose pressure table does not describe the shrink tube’s specification.
Buyer questions
Can one PTFE specification cover all PTFE products?
Use the specification for the actual product form and size. Shared material naming does not make different constructions equivalent.
What if the page does not list my connection?
Send the connection standard, dimensions or a drawing for review. Confirm the complete assembly conditions before ordering.
What information is needed when a PTFE page has no table?
Include the product link, purpose, dimensions, medium and relevant operating conditions so the missing specification can be discussed.
